Free parking place, good breakfast, hotel staff excellent and very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is very hard to find, almost impossible mission. There should be more signs and notices around the city where the hotel is located. We looked for the Villa Mater about 2 hours and we barely managed to find it.
I didnt like the distance between the hotel and Centre of the city. Is too much far, and is too much hard find the hotel if you go by car.
Above average breakfast. Staff reasonably ok, pick up-drop off at restaurant for those who do not want to drive in catania.
Airconditioning was turned off from 4.00 am till 6.00 pm!!!!!!! Unlike some people, we prefferred to start our day at 10-11, instead of 8.00 am, but because "most" visitors were out at that time, they took of the central conditioning, so there was no airco in 40 degree weather.
Good breakfast. Hotel is far from city center but bus station is 100 m far from hotel. If you are traveling by car, there is free parking in front of the hotel.
Bathroom was very narrowly - it was irritating. Rooms don't have balcony - there is one small for whole floor.
It came with free parking for our hire car. The room was a good size.
The bathroom was badly designed as are most of the bathrooms in the hotels thru-out Europe. The toilet lid wouldn't even stay up while on the toilet. There was quite a bit of outdoor space which had there been chairs would have been useful and pleasant.
First of all we were regular clients of this hotel and we weren't going abroad because of personal reasons. We recommended this hotel to many people and we went there many times. When we called them to cancel the booking they said we couldn't refund you back and I said ok fair enough but what if we go there three times a year? That's the way you treat your regular clients? Something else which I was very disappointed about is that by mistake the credit card expiry date I entered wasn't good and the payment was taken anyway !!! when we booked it said that a fridge and a/c were included but when we arrived there was no fridge and when we tried to switch on the a/c it wouldn't get on so we contacted the receptionist and he said that we couldn't switch it on during this time and it wasn't the time for a/C. It was on the 28th september not like it was in february !!! it was hot and we couldn't sleep. Next morning when we were doing the departure we were charged a fee which was also not included and not mentioned when the booking was made. Something else you need to leave the car to the receptionist in the evening since the parking is very small.
People were very nice and the quality was ok for a 2 stars hotel.
The location is very acquard. Very difficult to find and impossible to stay there if not with a car.
spacious clean room, nice view from hotel on city, 24h reception
internet only in the hall downstairs and additional paid
Friendly personal. In a reception they supported us with very usefull information about climbing Etna, about traveling, weather broadcast etc. Hotel is near to highway and about 2 km from the center of Catania. Hotel s also good for traveling around. Parking places are also usefull.
The room was spacious and was very clean. We had a quad room, so the kids didn't have to share a bed. Even with four beds and all the furniture in the room, we still had plenty of room to move around and didn't feel like we were stacked on top of each other. The bathroom wasn't very spacious, but it was clean, and that's what was really important to me. The hotel had an elevator, which isn't always present in European hotels. The breakfast was great and would have cost us at least 25 Euro if we had eaten the equivalent at a patisserie.
We have a minivan and it was a little tight getting into the hotel parking lot. The staff was nice enough, but wasn't openly friendly - we were sort of surprised. We'd heard the further south you go in Italy, the friendlier Italians were. Not so here - maybe we were just at an off time.
Comfortable room, friendly and helpful staff, good position and good parking area.
The offer of a pick up and drop off at the local restaurant was much appreciated and really helpful, we only had one night there, but the room was quite small, but at the price, it was good value.
the aircondision switch of during the nights at 2.00am
Very cheap for family stay. Secure car parking.
There is no air-conditioner in a room. In hot summer season, it seems unconfortable to stay.
Great breakfast and friendly helpfull staff
Our room was on the ground floor, where it was quite noisy and we had a bathroom for disabled people, which is nice looking at the space, but has the disadvantage of having to shower with the showerhead in your hand and pressing a button for the water continuously, but I think other rooms don't have these problems.
